Been really busy the past couple of weeks attending shows, jumping in and out of studios, and running the b-i-z but busy is a good thing – I finally have a moment to update the blog. Friend of mine, DJ Mayumi came in to town and she DJ’d at a couple of clubs, rocking the floor and killed it on the sound selection and mixing. There were also a number of other artists from Japan who happened in to be in LA – we linked up with Kayzabro (DS455) and Snake from STM, jumped into the studio with the smooth G-Funk producer XL Middleton. New release! DJ Mayumi released a mix CD “Private Pink Party” featuring AK-69′s Hollywood! Shout out to DJ Mayumi and AK-69! Congrats on the release! She’s the number one DJ in Japan not to mention she’s a real cool girl so make sure yall go check her out! On another note, I know I haven’t been posting too much updates lately but here are some pictures I took on my phone to revisit – TI$A being an awesome brand, dropping by Interscope studios, my boy getting a Ferrari, the recent event at VLounge, and the beautiful sunset shot from the mountains of Malibu.

Late Night Session

Stopped by AlleyTracks to see Kaido lay down a new session. I’ve been getting a lot of producers around me who’s been recommending me to test out the hardware by NI called The MASCHINE. Well I finally got the opportunity to play around with it and test it out. It’s really easy to load samples, chop it up, loop it, and do much more. It’s probably the perfect hardware + software combo for people who like to sample and I would definitely recommend it to people who perform live. The amount of possibilities in what you can do to create music is endless with the technology that is offered today.

Afternoon Coffee

Hey how are you doing fam? Had an afternoon coffee meeting with Mo aka Mo Money aka CEO of MOXSUM. As I mentioned before, V.S.P. is going through some changes (for the better) and I hope to make the announcement in the near future. I have couple of new individuals on board to establish something that is more than just a music production / publishing group but an entity that encompasses all of the creative things we enjoy. With all of the talks of the poor economy, recession, and high unemployment rates, it’s time for us to make our own moves because we honestly do not expect anything from the state or the government. No matter what, the sun sets, a new day starts, and time passes by. Stay tuned for the V.S.P. Network.

411 Magazine x AK-69!

I just got this latest issue from the folks over at 411! The magazine is kind of like XXL in the states. The cover is none other than my man AK-69 (which I was there for the shoot and his interview when I was in Japan which can be seen here…hope I didn’t get in the way of the shoot or the interview lmao) and the issue features his interview about the stadium show he just finished up and his views of the state of Hip Hop in Japan. The magazine also features my man Zang Haozi who just released his 2nd studio album which I had the great opportunity to be on. Shouts to 411 magazine and my man EZ!
